Sino Group is applying for participation in the Community Isolation Facility (CIF) Hotel Scheme by converting a hotel into community isolation facilities in a further effort to support the community to combat COVID-19. Upon acceptance by the relevant authorities, it will provide close to 700 rooms as isolation facilities for patients with no or mild symptoms.
Mr Daryl Ng, SBS, JP, Deputy Chairman of Sino Group, says, ‘We are committed to Hong Kong, and would like to help to alleviate the pressure on the public health system. We shall continue to support the Government and work with all sectors to combat the pandemic. Our workforce is fully vaccinated, and I would like to appeal to all to get vaccinated as soon as possible after seeking medical advice.’
This is the latest effort by the Group to help to combat COVID-19, following the donation of 280,000 rapid antigen test kits to aid the less-resourced in collaboration with the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong.
Additionally, the Hong Kong Community Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation founded by Mr Ng, has presented 5,000 valentine packs to medical professionals working at 21 public hospitals and medical institutes to extend heartfelt gratitude for their professional and tireless work. Furthermore, the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, of which Mr Daryl Ng chairs, has pledged HK$6 million to support the designated taxi fleet to ferry patients to and from designated clinics, which commence on 18 February 2022.
