Sino Inno Lab, a sandbox platform established by Sino Group to promote innovation and facilitate co-creation, has been named one of the ‘Best Sustainable Companies’ at the inaugural SDG Enterprise Awards 2020 (the ‘Awards’). The award recognises Sino Inno Lab’s contribution to fostering industrial innovation and infrastructure. Among the nine winners of the Awards, Sino Inno Lab was the only winner from the real estate industry, and the only winner from the field of technology and innovation.

Organised by the Junior Chamber International Victoria (JCI Victoria), a charitable organisation affiliated to the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong, the Awards was launched to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (‘UNSDG’) and to recognise enterprises that uphold corporate social responsibility in building a more sustainable future for the community.

Sino Inno Lab has been acknowledged for its efforts in driving industry innovation and being an open platform for idea exchange among start-ups, as well as fostering technological development in the property sector. By pushing forward the UNSDG’s Goal 9, namely industrial innovation and infrastructure, Sino Inno Lab has been recognised for its endeavours in empowering and inspiring the younger generation, as well as supporting Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem and growth into an international innovation and technology hub.

Sino Inno Lab was launched by Sino Group in October 2018 to support Hong Kong’s innovative ecosystem. It aims to forge partnerships between business partners and industry players, and foster a culture of innovation and build a knowledge network. Since its inception, Sino Inno Lab has showcased more than 70 inventions and technologies, facilitated over 40 adoptions, and welcomed more than 5,000 visitors from business associates, trade organisations and academia.

Mr Andrew Young, Associate Director (Innovation) of Sino Group who represented the Group at the virtual presentation ceremony said, “We are delighted to receive this recognition and would like to thank our partners and colleagues for their unwavering support. The accolade is a testament to Sino Inno Lab’s commitment to serving as a co-creation platform for the sector. We will continue to connect technology companies and business partners in supporting the property sector to create a more sustainable future for all.”

Mr Daryl Ng, Deputy Chairman of Sino Group added, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank our team for their dedication and congratulate them for their continued achievements. At Sino, we are committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business operations. With our vision of Creating Better Lifescapes, we look forward to having more collaboration with like-minded partners from Hong Kong and overseas to build a smarter, better community for all.”

Sustainability is integral to Sino Group’s business. Sino Land Company Limited has joined the United Nations Global Compact (‘UNGC’) as a Signatory in April 2020. The Group’s participation in the UNGC is just one step in making sustainability improvement a reality as the Group strives to build a better future for the community.
