Sino Group Honoured for HR Efforts

Company named one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ by HR Asia and commended for employee learning and development by the HKIHRM

Sino Group has received a number of accolades in recognition of its continuous efforts in human resources management, namely one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ by HR Asia in 2018 as well as the ‘Excellent Learning and Development Award’ in the HR Excellence Award 2017/18 organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management.
Organised by the authoritative publication for HR professionals, HR Asia, the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ Award recognises companies with a high level of employee engagement and excellent workplace culture.  Sino Group is among the 33 winners in Hong Kong from 168 nominees basing on a stringent selection and judging process.
The winners have been selected by an independent panel of industry experts, academics, journalists and government representatives based on the companies’ scores in HR Asia’s proprietary surveys, namely HR Asia Employee Input Survey™ (EIS) that asks employees’ opinions about their employers, and HR Asia Workplace and Employee Engagement Survey™ (WEES) that surveys the companies’ employee turnover rates, employee growth rates and workplace accidents rate.  The survey results indicate that employers that are more transparent, supportive of employees’ growth and practise leading by example are more likely to be rated as a good workplace by their employees.
The HR Excellence Award, organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management, is an industry-acclaimed award that recognises organisations and individuals who achieve business success through outstanding people strategies and practices.  Sino Group won the ‘Learning and Development’ category with ‘Train-the-Trainer STAR Programme’ for its efforts in the design and implementation of a unique learning and development strategy.

‘We are greatly honoured by the recognitions bestowed upon us by some of the most reputable and renowned organisations in human resources management,’ remarks Ms Alice Ip, Executive Director of Sino Group, ‘this is a recognition of our efforts and achievements in ensuring a high level of employee engagement, cultivating a cohesive workplace culture as well as providing training and development opportunities.  We strive to make the Group the preferred choice for employees, and will continue to foster an engaging and rewarding environment through effective employee engagement strategy and implementation.’
These are the latest honours conferred on the Group, in addition to the Silver Award for Excellence in Training and Development organised by the Hong Kong Management Association.  Sino Hotels, the hospitality and management arm of Sino Group, has also received the Gold Award of ‘Best Diversity & Inclusion Strategy’ and the Silver Award of ‘Best Recruitment Evaluation Technique’ at the Asia Recruitment Awards 2018 by HR Asia in recognition of its efforts in developing a diversified and inclusive workplace as well as comprehensive assessment techniques to recruit the right talents.
