'Sino Caring Friends' volunteer team presents 500 hearty healthy rice dumplings to
over 80 seniors to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival

(12/06/2010, Hong Kong)  With the Dragon Boat Festival just around the corner, over 30 'Sino Caring Friends' staged the ‘Hearty Rice Dumplings for the Elderly' charity event together with enthusiastic senior volunteers from Island Resort’s Evergreen Club today to celebrate the festive occasion by visiting more than 80 elderly people at an elderly centre operated by The Hong Kong Society for the Aged (SAGE) and bringing them warm regards and 500 healthy rice dumplings tailor-made by Sino Group’s Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel. The healthy rice dumplings are made of black sticky rice, sticky rice, red beans, green beans and black eyed peas, so they're delicious, nutritious and especially suitable for the elderly. During the event, volunteers brought the elderly a happy afternoon with exciting games, a magic performance, classic songs and fresh fruits. Sino Group has long been actively participating in a wide range of community programmes and fundraising activities. The Group also collaborates with various social organisations and NGOs to support those in need through its enthusiastic ‘Sino Caring Friends’ volunteer team, which contributed over 40,000 hours of voluntary service to the community last year. ~End~
