Sino Group's 'Art in Hong Kong' presents "Lotus Fantasia" - Photography by Leo KK Wong

(17/04/2010, Hong Kong) Subsequent to 2 successful joint exhibitions in 2009 – 'Impression: Hong Kong' with Superstar Chow Yun-fat (周潤發) and 'The Verve of Light and Shadow' with master photographers Tchan Fou-li and Kan Hing-fook, veteran photographer Dr Leo KK Wong joins hands with Sino Group's 'Art in Hong Kong' to present his latest solo photography exhibition: 'Lotus Fantasia' – Photography by Leo K.K. Wong. This exhibition showcases 40 masterpieces depicting lotuses photographed during the four seasons. Whether blossoming or withering, Dr Wong captures lotuses at their most stunning moments with his masterly photographic skills.

An internationally acclaimed photography master
Dr Wong studied photography under the master photographer SF Dan, and his style was subsequently influenced by his friend, the late Chinese painter Zhu Qi Zhan. Dr Wong's achieves an individual expression that is strong and concise through his consummate treatment of colour and light. Active in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China photography salons, Dr Wong represents the Photographic Salon Exhibitors Association and he contributes to efforts to develop salon photography in Hong Kong. His works have won awards locally and internationally. As a highly recognized photographer, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in joint exhibitions in many cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, Vancouver and San Francisco.

Superb series of lotus photographs
"Lotus Fantasia" reveals how Dr Wong embraces state-of-the-art multiple exposure and telephoto lens techniques and applies no special effects in post-production. The fleeting moments of the beauty of the lotus in different seasons are meticulously captured in this splendid collection of photographs. He took the photos in various locations, such as Tai Hung Tsuen in Hong Kong, Summer Palace in Beijing and Emperor Go-Uda's mausoleum in Kyoto.

A magical Lotus journey
All exhibited works were personally selected by Dr Wong. In order to offer a wonderful Lotus journey to all visitors, he has given curatorial advice on this exhibition.
