Sino Corporate teams climb mountains and wade
streams to victory in the 'Sino Team Challenge 36' cross-country race

(22/12/2009, Hong Kong) The 'Sino Team Challenge 36', a charity cross-country event title sponsored by Sino Group, was held on Lantau Island on 19 and 20 December. Braving a biting wind, the Sino Corporate Team overcame all difficulties to defeat 88 other teams and take the Inter-Corporate Group Championship and the Challenge Team Open Team Championship.

'Sino Team Challenge 36' is a strenuous event that requires willpower, confidence and team spirit. Participants must find their way to a destination in the countryside and finish a number of team tasks within 36 hours. This year the cross-country race was run on Lantau Island over rugged terrain that was more challenging than ever. Starting from Penny's Bay, the Sino Corporate Team members had to wade through streams and climb mountains to overcome many challenges including orienteering, abseiling and canoeing etc. They also needed to cross the second highest mountain in Hong Kong – Lantau Peak. Demonstrating team spirit and physical endurance, the Sino Team members successfully completed the 50km journey in good time despite the numerous obstacles.

Mr Randy Yu, General Manager of Sino Group, said, "Sino Group is delighted to support the 'Sino Team Challenge 36' charity event for the second consecutive year by becoming the title sponsor. This year the Group sent four teams comprises 20 staff and management trainees to compete in the challenge to raises funds for The Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong's children and youth development services. It also helps youngsters to develop potentials and broaden their horizons via healthy sports event."
