(08/07/2009, Hong Kong) Office lobbies are often seen as cold and boring. Sino Group initiated the 'Art in Hong Kong' programme in 2006 to bring art into people's daily lives, including office buildings and shopping malls. Following the success of public art galleries in Central Plaza lobby, OC Gallery in Olympian City and IRM Gallery in Island Resort Mall, Sino Group's 'Art in Hong Kong' is delighted to collaborate with EDGE Gallery to bring a series of exciting art exhibitions titled 'CHKC Art Walk Series' to China Hong Kong City's five office towers.
The colourful and imaginative works of Seiko Fujioka The first exhibition 'Holiness - Solo Exhibition of Seiko Fujioka' commenced yesterday, featuring sixteen colourful and dramatic paintings of young Japanese artist Seiko Fujioka. In order to bring art to tenants and shoppers of China Hong Kong City as well as art lovers in general, Sino Group organized a tenant cocktail and guided tour yesterday so that the audience can appreciate Seiko's exuberant and dreamlike work in a relaxed manner.
Seiko launched her career with traditional Japanese painting and now fuses conventional style with modern techniques, for example, collage and mixed media. Her compositions embody elements of art nouveau, and are resplendent with vivid colour, rich detail, and theatrical and imaginative imagery. The hybrid character of her art reflects our modern metropolitan life and her background as a fashion designer adds a sense of trend to her work.
About Seiko Fujioka Seiko Fujioka was born in Matsuyama, Japan in 1982. She graduated from one of the most famous art institutes in Japan, Tama Art University, where she obtained a major in Japanese Painting. Two years later, she graduated from the Painting Graduate Course from the same school. Her art wanders between design and fine art. After graduation, she worked as a designer in "facade green" of United Arrows, a fashion brand in Japan.
