Steeped in the charming old Hong Kong’s history, The Pottinger Hong Kong, a 68-room luxury hotel situated in the city’s first historic stone slab street, welcomes visitors to experience the dynamic and vibrant neighbourhood of Central.
The Pottinger Hong Kong is where East meets West, where Modernity meets Heritage.
At The Pottinger Hong Kong, Sino Heritage celebrates the romantic, rich heritage of Central, through in-room interpretation with the use of artworks, plaques, multimedia and other guest engagement programmes.
The highlight of the programme features a number of striking images in the hotel guest rooms by one of Hong Kong’s most famous sons, photographer and film director Fan Ho.
Born in 1931, the 83-year-old photographer is a multi-awardwinning legend who has taken some of the most iconic photographs of Central in 1950s and 1960s. This is the first time Mr. Ho works in a commercial project extensively in order to celebrate his favourite place in the whole world - Central. We have also produced a video documentary on the life of this celebrated master.
Paying homage to the rich history of Pottinger Street, historic research, cultural mapping exercises have been conducted and a video documentary is produced to document the heritage of Pottinger Street.
